PFD's Be Prepared!!

Dear MTN School family,

Today was another fantastic day out with a great Team of kids and Teachers.

I feel so proud of these Earthy, Sunny kids! Their friendships and comfort in the outdoors are plain to see. They are supporting each other and making memories. They are leaving wild places better than they found them.

Still, our Teacher Team noted 25% of kids were unprepared today. We did have 12 PFD's to share, so all were safe and included.

Please read the schedule and fill in some of the blanks I have missed. For example, we are heading to Rifle Gap next week. This means lots of time on the water with SUPs, tubes, kayaks. We will fish a lot. Sunscreen and the expectation that we reapply several times each day, or better yet, send sun shirts with hoods and wide-brimmed hats.

Send proper footwear! Crocs are not great and are regularly lost. Returning kids are comfy with river sandals and shoes.

"One water bottle is not enough!" The kids have heard us remind this many times. Freeze a bottle! It is so nice to have ice in the PM, and we always have a few extra gallons to fill bottles for the trip home.

When kids say, "My Mom didn't send..." We say, "You need to think ahead and be prepared." Even the little ones can do it.

Respectfully,

The MTN School Team
