TRCS After School update and schedule

Dear MTN School Family,

To facilitate conferences, we will keep the Team busy from Noon to 6PM tomorrow.  If you shoot me an email and text during the day tomorrow, I will be able to keep it fresh with short trips while making sure students are ready for their conference times.  No cost on this, just hoping to help our TRCS community.

Recent weeks have been a proper balance of play and productivity.  Students are working on "Bushcraft Tables," and even the youngest ones are using handsaws, measuring, and fastening wood pieces with our help.  They are choosing Gambel Oak and Serviceberry legs from the forest and using a draw knife to peel the bark before using chisels to square off their table legs.

Fishing has been stellar with Finn's help.  Asher Hennessy was the first to finish a quality essay and seal all of his Time Capsule components.

Big News!!:  Haley Wilken, who has been heading up the Town of Frisco Childcare program has joined our Team and will begin at TRCS on 11/5!  She is a wonderful, charismatic person, with lots of experience so I will do all I can to welcome her and make her feel at home.

Schedule:

10/27- Monday- Continue Bushcraft Table build and begin Cornhole game build

10/28- Tuesday- Football game (Haley and Charlotte to complete time capsules with artifacts from home.)

10/29- Wednesday- Yurt visit- Bushcraft Table build and Cornhole game build

10/30- Pumpkin carving

10/31-  Trick or treating very close to TRCS.  Please contact me to dial in schedules, pick up early, etc.

11/3- Monday- Welcome committee activities

11/4- Tuesday- Haley Roff choice

11/5- Storm King Hike and History with Miss Haley!

11/6- Fishing with Finn and Mr. Ben.

11/7- Student Choice or complete standing projects
