TRCS- last days of school! (Schedule)

Great days this Spring have included archery, fishing, capture the flag, and a messy day painting Mother's Day pots with spray cans :)

I wanted to take a minute to share some thoughts about the kids as we arrive at the end of the school year. They are feeling the catharsis and excitement too. They are reflecting on what they've accomplished and they are tired. Most of them are overscheduled. Ours certainly are. Archery has been a good chance to wait for a turn, to be still, and to regain some focus and deep breath. It seems that the older students, in particular, just need a minute at the end of the day to process all they've done and seen. I know TRCS and the great Teachers there, are still pushing them and getting them out for lots of great field trips and field studies.

I am really looking forward to some long, full MTN school days this Summer, but I will make sure to honor the needs these kids have expressed to have some good friend time, to slow down, to eat a longer lunch (and clean up), to take our time walking a trail or enjoy watching someone else take a turn with a fishing rod.
