TRCS Update and Schedule- Week before Thanksgiving and full-day trip

We really enjoyed the time at GSES this week. So much fun reconnecting friends and making new ones. We had some great football games, indoor rock climbs, ga ga ball matches, basketball games, and even some practice fly casting. Miss Mary is a great host and she didn't mind is tearing the gym up at all ;)

Logan Rohe turned 10 this week and we partied at DQ!

Miss Vanessa led the group for some much-loved art projects, and I have been following her momentum by offering some mini-lessons on Corn and its importance in Western Civilization.

We built balsa wood airplanes and discussed wind shear, Bernoulli principle, the Wright Brothers...

We visited Canyon Creek Schoolhouse and started early planning for a school play in the historical fiction genre... more to come on that project!

Schedule for the week of November 18-22:

Monday 18th- Miss Vanessa and Mr Q will lead Sketch your Teachers Day. Plan is to complete 2-3 drafts and conplete a Peer Review Cycle to push improvements.

Tuesday 19th- Volleyball skills practice. We want to support Shelby's growth in the sport and will so this more often. "Prisoner" is a great game for emerging Volleyball players and we have a few good methods for teaching bump, set, spike skills.

Wednessay 20th- Guided trip to Missouri Heights Schoolhouse to suppprt our history work and build our script. HOMEWORK: read thirty minutes on this website and write two relevant questions about school 100 years ago for our guide. Your entry ticket for the bus ride is your carefully written two-question paper.

Thursday 21st- Volleyball and Basketball rotation

Friday 22nd- Bring a favorite book. Mr Q and Miss Vanessa to organize reading groups that feature "Loud and Proud" summaries from each student.

Thanksgiving Week:

Monday 25th- Opt in MTN Biking trip. Location TBD based on weather. Newcastle likely. CMC possible. All abilities welcome, but please make sure bikes are rideable and ready over the weekend. Please do not send mechanical problems.

Evening of 25th- Parent's Night Out/Thanksgiving Prep/Whatever you need. Miss Breezie is hosting and Canady family will support. Either return from biking for party or join separately.
